Marianna Lines works in the The
Thatched Studio, in Collessie, Fife, Scotland, where visitors are welcome
to drop by to meet her and to view her work. Collessie, a hamlet in the Howe
of Fife between Auchtermuchty and Cupar, is one of the few Scottish settlements
still to have a high proportion of thatched buildings. Marianna's studio, a former
communal wash-house, was derelict when she bought it some years ago, and
it was restored with the help of Tom Morton, a local architect who specialises
in the restoration of historic buildings using the traditional building
techniques of east Fife.
If you would like to visit Marianna at the Thatched Studio
and learn more about her art, or the history of the building and Collessie,
why not email her at
marianna@stoneline.co.uk,
or telephone on 01337-810283 (++44 1337 810283 if outside
the UK).
Visiting hours are by appointment or by chance. Special parties,
receptions and tours can be arranged of the vernacular restoration thatched
building, the studio art and Collessie village with its other thatched
properties.
